PIFA PRESENTS:

Symposium 2022 Corporate Delegates

November 17th & 18th

CORPORATE DELEGATE PACKAGE

The Event

In mid to late November each year, the members of the Profession of Independent Financial Advisers, the financial advice community, and other stakeholders come together from all over the country to PIFA’s Symposium for the opportunity to rub shoulders, network and take home unique and thought-leading content delivered by passionate and engaging speakers.

This year, at PIFA’s 2022 national event, ‘Reuniting Advisers’, we celebrate the end of two years of ‘global conference lockdown’ at the landmark Ovolo Nishi hotel, in Canberra’s New Acton precinct.

Financial Advisers, their support teams, and industry stakeholders are all invited to join us at this year’s event to enjoy the strong sense of community and comradeship we enjoy as supporters of the concept of the Gold Standard of IndependenceTM.

The Opportunity for Corporate Delegates

This year, for the first time, PIFA warmly extends an invitation to corporate service providers who would like the opportunity to meet delegates who are predominantly AFSL owners and the ‘decision-makers’ in their financial planning businesses.

Corporate Delegates have the chance to get an insight into the world of the genuinely independent adviser; how their work is not about product but more about strategic outcomes for their clients.  This is how corporate service providers can be so valuable to the genuinely independent financial adviser.

Corporate Delegate Package

The PIFA annual national Symposium Corporate Delegate Package offers the following:

    • NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES: Build relationships at all three intimate settings by having the opportunity to talk directly with the principals of AFSL’s who are the decision makers.

    • BRANDING OPPORTUNITIES: Display your corporate banner stand at the Welcome Drinks on Thursday night, all day in the conference room of the Symposium on Friday as well as the dining room of the Delegate dinner on Friday night. We also invite you to distribute your corporate brochure and or branded merchandise in the Delegate Symposium Tote Bag which each delegate will receive.

  • LEAD OPPORTUNITIES: Circulate and distribute corporate business cards to delegates at all three events and gain access to full delegate attendee list.

COST

  • $2,990+GST – 2 tickets to the Thursday night Welcome Drinks, full day Symposium and Delegate Dinner on Friday night.
  • $750+GST – per additional corporate delegate from the same company

A bit about PIFA

PIFA created the Gold Standard of IndependenceTM to help financial advisers in Australia practice without conflicts of interest. Members of PIFA do not accept commissions as forms of payment for their services, are forbidden from charging asset-based fees, and have no ties to product manufacturers/issuers. PIFA also guides Australians on how to identify financial advice that is in their best interests and how to find Financial Advisers who practice this way. To become a Corporate Delegate at the 2022 PIFA Symposium, please download and complete a registration form.

Damian Seaton: Managing Director of Cyber Audit Team & Executive Committee member of the Australian Information Security Association (AISA)

My client has been hacked. I think it may be my fault.

According to the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC), during the 2020-21 financial year, cyber-attacks on Australian businesses resulted in a data breach being reported every 8 minutes, resulting in over $33b in self-reported losses. Financial planners are a lucrative target for criminals, particularly when planners operate their businesses from home, without the usual corporate security and other business infrastructure.

ASIC have taken a much stronger stance against Directors’ and Officers’ within the financial sector, and are actively pursuing AFSL holders, Authorised Representatives, and Financial Planners who fail to implement adequate systems, resources and policies, which were reasonably required to manage cybersecurity risk and enhance cyber resilience.

Join us and discover what you can do to protect your clients, your liability and reputation, as well as your livelihood.

How to tell your story and win clients for life

There’s an old saying: your experience is someone else’s antidote. The story of how you came to be where you are today has enormous power both for you and for your clients. When you properly capture the passion of your story you earn the right to apply its lessons for the benefit of your clients. Learn how to unlock that magic because its the key to being paid just for being who you are today. Join this session and discover the art of telling your own story, of translating your own hero’s journey succinctly and compellingly in an increasingly noisy market place.

Who’s the expert in the room anyway

FASEA has set new baseline standards ethical conduct and education for the industry. FASEA is about to be disbanded, though, and replaced by another regulator who should be setting the standards the legislators or us, the members of this profession? As a profession we expect more than just meeting the minimum legal standards, were about setting standards that are aspirational, for all members of industry to follow. Join this session and have your say about defining best practice as experts, rather than leaving it to the bureaucrats.
