Chris O’Brien

High Performance Coach, Australian Institute of Sport

Chris is Australia’s most successful Olympic Rowing Coach. He led the Australian Rowing Team to 1 gold and 2 silver medals at the Rio Olympics and has also coached crew to two gold and two silver medals across four Olympic Games.

Chris now works as Performance Manager with the Australian Institute of Sport where he engages with a variety of sports in establishing the plans for, and delivery of, their programs in pursuit of Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth glory. On a daily basis he is challenged to adapt his high-performance knowledge and various skills to the elite programs in Athletics, Shooting, Netball, Cycling, Volleyball, Skateboard and Surfing.

Chris has an under graduate degree in Business and post graduate qualifications in Education and Sport Science. These academic achievements coupled with his sporting achievements help shape his thinking around delivery of sporting outcomes, leadership and teamwork.

Kim Brennan

Athlete – Rowing

Kim began her athletic career in track and field, having great success in the 400m hurdles where she claimed silver at the World Youth Championships in Athletics in 2001 and won the Australian junior title at the Australian Athletics Championships in both the 2001-02 and 2003-04 seasons.

After suffering an injury that ended her hurdling career in 2005, Kim took up rowing and went from strength to strength, winning scores of single and crew sculling races both domestically and internationally.

Kim raced in the women’s coxless pair final at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, coming fourth, and backed that up at the London Olympic Games in 2012 with a silver in the double sculls and a bronze in the single sculls. Continually striving for that elusive gold she was rewarded at the 2016 Rio Olympics, taking out the win in the single scull where she led the race from the starting line to the finish.

Kristy Harris

Athlete – Boxing

Kristy hails from Victoria and at just 25 years old is a four-times National Boxing Champion and a four-times World Championship Representative.

She competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and in 2016 she won gold in Poland at the XIII Silsian International Tournament, gold again in Makhachkala, Russia at the Umakhanov Memorial where she was also awarded the coveted title of Best Female Boxer, and was named Australia’s Best International Female Boxer.

This year alone she has already won gold in Spain and has qualified for the 2018 World Championships in the 54kg division being held in India in November. She will train at the Australian Institute of Sport prior to the event before she heads off to India to participate in a multi-national training camp leading up to the tournament.

Kristy has an incredible 77% win rate with 58 wins from 76 fights so far.

Felicity Lemke (nee Galvez)

Athlete – Swimming

Felicity was awarded an AIS scholarship in 2004 after competing in that year’s Olympics in Athens. She then went on to represent Australia in the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games, the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games all while also competing in numerous World Championship events.

At the Beijing Olympic Games Felicity was a member of the gold medal winning relay teams in both the 4x100m Medley Relay and the 4x200m Freestyle Relay.

On 26^th January 2009 Felicity was awarded the Order of Australia for her services to sport in Beijing and went on to re-break the 100m butterfly world record in the FINA World Cup Series later that year.

Felicity was also a member of the 4x100m medley team that won Gold in both the 2004, 2005 and 2007 Wold Championships, and in the freestyle team that took silver in the Rome World Championships in 2009. She was also a Silver medallist at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games for the 200m butterfly and won gold in the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games in the 4×100 Freestyle Relay. Felicity finished her career on a high at the World Short Course Championships being the only Gold medallist for Australia and reclaiming her 100m butterfly title.

After retiring from swimming in 2010, Felicity spent the next 8 years working at the AIS before starting her own business “Galvanised Fitness” which focuses on group and personal training.

Mark O’Flaherty

Linil Peak Performance

On Good Friday in 2015, Mark O’Flaherty successfully retired from the workforce. A year later, following requests to package his mentoring and coaching skills into specific programs to help others deliver more, achieve more and benefit more from their life’s work, he started LiniL. Mark designs programs that help his clients deliver consistent over-achievement, improve performance, expand their capacity, and build their business cash flow and even helps clients achieve early retirement.

Mark’s background includes 27 years in the IT industry, where he was highly successful in Australian senior management roles during a period of significant change at Symantec, continually outperformed in various Canberra and National roles for a decade with IBM and built the Objective Corporation business in Canberra, a national listed company that creates information and process governance solutions that enable organisations to confidently advance their own digital transformation.

In his spare time, Mark is also the Executive Mentor to an Indigenous IT business working with Commonwealth Government agencies and is a Program Director at the Australian 3D Manufacturing Association (think 3D printing).

Chris Collings

Focus: Chris helps his clients to resolve complexity, distilling out the day-to-day noise, to surface the core issues, and then make clear, thought-out decisions that will achieve effective growth and transformation.

Background: A former senior Managing Director of Deutsche Bank, Chris’s career has encompassed managing large businesses across Asia, Europe and Australia. From this background, he delivers to his clients a global perspective, as well as the practical, hands-on experience of having led teams through rapid expansion, external crisis, and cultural change.

Recent assignments have seen Chris assist the management & board of an ASX-listed company to define and execute their next 5 year growth strategy, work with the owner of an SME to plan a capacity expansion in order to facilitate the next stage of growth, and work with an entrepreneurial couple to define for the first time a management structure for their company, creating clear lines of accountability and responsibility.

A Chartered Accountant and graduate of the AICD, Chris holds a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University. He also sits on a number of Not-For-Profit Boards.

Simon Carrodus

The Fold Legal

Simon is a Senior Associate at The Fold Legal in Sydney, which specialises in wealth management, financial advice, fintech, regulatory guidance and disputes.

Simon has seen financial services from almost every angle – working for a regulator (ASIC), a fund manager, a big 4 bank and a large law firm. Now at The Fold, Simon brings his broad experience in financial services and regulatory advice to provide guidance to his clients on policies and systems, negotiating complex contracts and acting as liaison to the regulator.

Simon’s deep technical knowledge and understanding of the financial regulatory framework, coupled with his ability to explain difficult concepts in a practical and energetic way, holds him in good stead to talk to us about the legal implications for the financial services industry following one of the more spectacular royal commission inquiries we’ve seen.[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][/vc_accordion][vc_empty_space height=”128px”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
